Exit Trio

Exit Trio consists of Lior Yekutieli on guitar, Yiotis Kiourtsoglou on bass, and Marc Halbheer on drums.

It all began in Los Angeles, USA, when Swiss drummer Marc Halbheer and Greek bassist Yiotis Kiourtsoglou met in the late 1980s. Shortly after, they teamed up with Israeli guitarist Lior Yekutieli. This collaboration laid the foundation for a long-term partnership, and in 1990, they formed Exit.

During the 1990s, the trio primarily performed in Greece, Israel, and Switzerland, attracting a dedicated group of fans. In 1995, Exit released the album Out of Noises, followed by In Between Times in 2000. Shortly after the turn of the millennium, the band had to take an unexpected break when Lior Yekutieli faced a long pause due to a finger injury. In 2010, to celebrate their 20th anniversary, Exit returned to the stage. The musicians had matured, and their music became more lyrical, yet the characteristic and unique sound of Exit remained intact.

During the second decade, they made several memorable appearances at venues and festivals in Greece and Switzerland until the pandemic forced them to pause again. In 2020, they produced two videos recorded remotely to celebrate their 30th anniversary. In October 2022, they finally reunited for new recordings and concerts in Athens, Greece. Four videos were released in October 2023, and the album will be out by the end of 2023.

The repertoire features original compositions primarily written by Lior Yekutieli. Within the authentic and cohesive sound of the trio, the three charismatic musicians have the opportunity to perform at their best and fully explore their potential. They delight the audience with energetic virtuosity as well as sensitive ballads. Above all, they share the joy of playing together, drawing on more than 30 years of shared history.
