Marc Halbheer & Juan Carmona featuring Pepe Habichuela

Pepe Habichuela is one of today’s great flamenco guitarists. He opened many doors for flamenco through early collaborations with jazz musicians like Max Roach and Don Cherry, as well as his work with Dave Holland from 2010 to 2012 and the Bollywood Strings. As the eldest member of the legendary Habichuela-Carmona dynasty, he has influenced generations of Spanish musicians.

His great-nephew, Juan Carmona, began accompanying his uncle at a young age, following a family tradition that has lasted for over eight generations. He grew up playing the cajón, guitar, and singing. Not only flamenco artists but also superstars like Beyoncé, Alejandro Sanz, and C. Tangana have relied on his talents. Juan Carmona is regarded as one of the most sought-after Spanish musicians and tours worldwide.

Zurich drummer Marc Halbheer has spent several years living part-time in Madrid. Due to various circumstances, he developed a strong friendship with the Habichuelas, who gradually introduced him to the wonderful world of their traditions.

Bassist Yago Salorio Simonet, guitarist Julián Olivares, and three others complete the lineup. They are key figures in Madrid’s flamenco and Latin jazz scene, having accompanied notable artists, including Malú, the niece of Paco De Lucía, for many years. Malú has achieved superstar status as a singer in Spain. Their repertoire features the purest flamenco, skillfully blended with elements of jazz and pop music. This exclusive lineup promises an extraordinary and unforgettable concert experience.
